The Hong Kong Tourism Board released data on the 16th showing that approximately 20.155 million visitors traveled to Hong Kong in the first five months of this year, marking a 12% year-on-year increase. Among them, mainland Chinese visitors accounted for about 15.182 million, representing over three-quarters of the total.
The data showed that approximately 4.08 million visitors came to Hong Kong in May, marking a 20% year-on-year increase. The HKTB attributed the rise in last month's visitor arrivals to two main factors: the timing coincided with the Mainland's Labor Day holiday period, and Hong Kong hosted several large-scale concerts, conferences, and exhibitions during the month, which also helped attract visitors.
