Huang Xing, Director of the Sanya Municipal Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports Bureau, stated at the press conference for the 10th Plenary Session of the 8th CPC Sanya Municipal Committee on the 11th that from January to November this year, Sanya received 32.6058 million tourist visits, including 924,600 inbound tourists, representing a year-on-year increase of 42.92%.
Huang Xing stated that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Sanya will implement global precision investment promotion to attract internationally renowned cultural tourism enterprises and high-end brands to establish operations. The city will vigorously develop the inbound tourism market, continuously expand its international flight network, and implement targeted marketing in key international source markets. It will deepen cooperation with international tourism organizations and host large-scale events with global influence. Efforts will continue to enhance inbound tourism services, improve multilingual service systems, and optimize cross-border payment environments. A global tourism promotion network will be established to comprehensively elevate the international influence of Sanya's tourism brand.
Simultaneously, Sanya will develop six major tourism product systems: marine tourism, cultural tourism, sports tourism, wellness tourism, low-altitude tourism, and rural tourism. Promote deep integration of duty-free shopping, cruise tourism, and performances with the tourism industry, actively introducing top-tier international cultural and tourism IPs such as premier performances, cultural events, and sports competitions. Advance key industrial projects including international resort hotel clusters, cultural exchange and transaction venues, and marine cultural attractions to establish Sanya as the Asia-Pacific Yacht Capital, the Capital of Performing Arts and Culinary Delights, a Romantic and Fashionable City, and a hub for cultural tourism and technological innovation.
Huang Xing stated that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Sanya will also draw on international standardization systems to develop a series of “Sanya Standards” for tourism services, enhancing the international service capabilities of its tourism workforce. The city will accelerate the construction of a unified smart tourism platform to provide one-stop, personalized services for visitors. Efforts will be made to modernize industry governance and establish a standardized, orderly tourism market environment.
